Location: Williston VT – Office Based Role Reporting to Jeff Hartnett, Engineering Manager Hourly Rate: $25.00 Rigorous Technology is a fast-growing robotics company with a mission to automate non-creative tasks, helping manufacturers streamline operations and improve efficiency. We design, prototype, build, and install industrial robotic systems that support small to medium-sized manufacturers across the U.S. Our proprietary RGS Studio software library enables advanced manipulation and control, continually pushing the boundaries of automation. As a Software Engineering Intern at Rigorous, you will report to the Engineering Manager. You will assist with current development projects, take on a research project, and contribute fresh ideas and perspectives to the team. You will work closely with our software team, participate in project meetings, and team discussions. Responsibilities Participate as a multidisciplinary engineering team member. Develop control software/systems for a variety of robotic applications. Develop and maintain the Rigorous software architecture and library RGS. Develop data management, alarm management, remote monitoring, and remote maintenance software tooling. Develop front end widgets and display tools. Deploy software to production systems. Assist with robotic integrations and installation. Assist with mechanical and electrical assembly. Contribute to mechanical and electrical drawing packages. Debug, diagnose, and resolve issues with robotic systems. Create and maintain clear documentation for internal and client use. Requirements Open to College Junior/Senior or recent Bachelors graduate with a major in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics. Understanding of basic Mechanical and Electrical Engineering principles: Programming (Python, Java), data structures and algorithms, Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) models, requirements analysis, system design/architecture, version control (Git), testing, and debugging. Solid organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Strong written and oral communication skills.
