About the Opportunity Our client, a leader in the Energy Storage industry, is looking for a skilled Embedded Engineer to join their team for a long-term engagement. This is a crucial role focused on the design and implementation of high-quality, real‑time firmware for microcontroller-based systems. This is a high-impact role that requires a self‑motivated professional to contribute to functional safety, prototyping, and the overall maturity of the software development process.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables This role is focused on delivering robust, production‑ready firmware. Your responsibilities will include:
Design and implement real-time, C++, RTOS-based firmware targeting microcontrollers.
Understand, code, and use microcontroller hardware to meet functional safety requirements.
Create firmware for embedded prototypes to validate hardware design choices and accelerate firmware development.
Verify and support the integration of your code, and support products deployed to the field.
Participate in hardware and software design reviews and assist with the definition of requirements.
Adhere to modern disciplined development practices such as Clang-based linting, consistent formatting, thoughtful naming, and clear commenting.
Required Skills & Experience We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:
Strong experience in embedded engineering with a focus on real-time, C++ development.
Deep expertise in developing RTOS-based firmware for microcontrollers.
Experience in implementing functional safety requirements at the hardware and firmware level.
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals.
Strong commitment to modern, disciplined development practices.
Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise status updates and participate effectively in design reviews.
