Job Summary Brooks Construction is seeking a hands‑on IT Systems and Security Administrator to support and maintain the company's infrastructure, business systems, cybersecurity tools, and end‑user technology across office, plant, shop, laboratory, and field environments.
This role is responsible for the day‑to‑day administration, support, security, and reliability of core IT systems including Microsoft 365, endpoint management, user access, mobile devices, collaboration technologies, and network‑connected systems. The position also contributes to infrastructure improvements, security initiatives, and technology standardization across the organization.
The ideal candidate is a technically skilled, service‑oriented professional who can work independently, troubleshoot complex issues, communicate effectively with users at all levels, and thrive in a fast‑paced operational environment.
Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities
Administers and supports Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and related cloud platforms.
Manages Active Directory user accounts, permissions, group policies, and identity/access controls.
Monitors, maintains, and patches Windows servers, endpoints, and core IT systems using RMM and management tools.
Supports network‑connected infrastructure across offices, plants, shops, laboratories, and field operations.
Assists with troubleshooting and maintaining network infrastructure including switches, wireless systems, VPN connectivity, and firewall‑related support activities.
Assists with system upgrades, infrastructure improvements, technology deployments, and hardware lifecycle management.
Configures, deploys, maintains, and troubleshoots desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and related hardware.
Administers Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms and supports company‑owned iOS devices.
Maintains endpoint standards, software deployment, and device security compliance.
Configures and maintains cybersecurity tools including MFA, spam filtering, and endpoint protection platforms.
Responds to security alerts, investigates issues, and supports incident response activities.
Promotes cybersecurity awareness and administers employee security training and phishing simulations.
Assists in enforcing IT security policies, best practices, and access controls across the organization.
Supports conference room technology, Zoom Rooms, Teams meetings, and audio/video collaboration systems.
Provides technical support and troubleshooting assistance for employees across multiple business units and locations.
Maintains accurate system documentation, procedures, and inventory records.
Other Duties/Responsibilities
Assists others in department as needed.
Provides backup support for other information technology functions as needed.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities
Strong understanding of Microsoft 365, Windows environments, endpoint management, and core IT infrastructure concepts.
Working knowledge of cybersecurity principles, identity/access management, and security best practices.
Experience supporting both cloud‑based and on‑premises systems.
Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently and efficiently.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and adapt to changing operational needs.
Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to support users at all organizational levels.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment regarding sensitive information.
Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, plus a minimum 3–5 years of experience in systems administration, IT infrastructure, network support, or cybersecurity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Network+, Security+, Microsoft, or related certifications preferred.
Experience supporting multi‑site operations or construction/manufacturing environments preferred.
Familiarity with emerging technologies, automation tools, and AI‑enabled business applications is strongly desired.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer workstation.
Occasional standing, walking, bending, or reaching.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Working Environment
This position is fully on‑site and requires regular in‑person attendance; remote or hybrid work arrangements are not available for this role.
Primarily office‑based work environment with occasional exposure to physical hazards and weather.
Regular interaction with internal departments and external partners (e.g., vendors, customers).
Work is typically performed during standard business hours; however, additional hours may be required during peak periods such as season startup or upgrade cycles.
Fast‑paced environment requiring the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs.
