About

Job Summary The Lead Application Engineer designs, develops, troubleshoots, and debugs advanced software systems and application programs for the organization. They lead functional projects that improve systems and processes, provide training and guidance to application engineers, evaluate, research, and recommend software upgrades, patches, and new functionalities, assist management in design and implementation of new applications, work with stakeholders to perform gap analyses and feasibility studies, develop and document technical design specifications, delegate tasks, lead development of test plans, analyze compliance with security protocols, and review and resolve escalated incident management activities. Responsibilities Lead functional projects that improve systems and processes. Provide training and guidance to application engineers. Evaluate, research, and recommend software application upgrades, patches, and new functionalities. Assist management in design and implementation of new applications, consulting with functional architects. Work with stakeholders to perform application functionality gap analyses and feasibility studies for enhancements. Develop and document complex and in-depth technical design specifications. Delegate tasks to application engineers and provide training and guidance on design and development of software enhancements. Lead the development of test plans and scripts for functional, performance, regression, and user acceptance testing. Analyze applications for compliance with security protocols and audit controls. Review and resolve escalated incident management activities. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field. Minimum 6 years of experience in application engineering or a similar role. Experience with software architecture utilizing agile methodologies for eCommerce platforms (B2B or B2C), DevOps, and Site Reliability Engineering within Enterprise IT ecosystems. At least 2 years of experience with Java applications, application performance monitoring, incident management, on‑call rotation, continuous integration, IT infrastructure management, continuous deployment, and administering containerization technologies. One year of experience in a lead or mentorship role with DevOps teams creating, deploying, and overseeing CI/CD pipeline architecture.
