Role Description & Responsibilities General Description: The Account Associate Inside Sales is an entry-level sales role with a defined career progression path into Account Executive or Account Manager opportunities. This position is responsible for inside sales activity, including showroom support, walk-in client engagement, phone inquiries, and consultative selling support for mid-market and growth opportunities. Through daily partnership with Sales, Design, Project Management, and Sales Administration teams, the role develops foundational selling skills, CRM discipline, product knowledge, and cross‑functional workflow capabilities while supporting showroom presentations, resource tools, small‑scale design planning, and pipeline activity tracking to build the competencies required for long‑term success within McCoy Rockford's furniture sales organization.
Duties and Responsibilities Operational / Process Responsibilities
Maintain showroom coverage from 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, ensuring a professional and responsive client‑facing environment
Interview and qualify walk‑in customers, inbound inquiries, and prospective mid‑market clients while providing consultative guidance on McCoy Rockford products and services
Prepare quotes, pricing requests, sales orders, and completed specifications for Sales Administration processing
Support creation of small‑scale design plans and furniture layouts for mid‑market customer opportunities
Partner with the Showroom Director to support showroom presentations, hosted events, and client engagement activities
Maintain showroom resources, including the Resource Library, finish samples, and vendor “red book” database
Perform manual and computer‑assisted product, finish, vendor, and resource searches to support customer requests and sales opportunities
Enter and maintain accurate customer, quote, and resource information within company systems and sales tools
Continue building product knowledge, consultative selling capabilities, and cross‑functional workflow understanding in preparation for career progression
Reporting Support
Identify, qualify, and track all customer, lead, showroom, and follow‑up activity within CRM
Monitor showroom traffic, inquiry trends, pipeline movement, and lead conversion opportunities
Support achievement of revenue and gross profit goals through strong qualification, follow‑up, and disciplined opportunity management
Provide timely updates to sales leadership and Account Executives regarding customer needs, next steps, and pipeline activity
Audit and Compliance
Ensure quotes, orders, specifications, and client details are documented accurately and routed appropriately
Follow company standards for CRM usage, order workflows, approvals, and documentation retention
Maintain organized records of customer requests, showroom activity, and resource materials
Ensure showroom materials, sample tools, and vendor resources remain current, accurate, and properly organized
Systems / Process Improvements
Identify opportunities to improve showroom workflows, inquiry responsiveness, and lead handoff efficiency
Utilize CRM and sales tools to strengthen follow‑up visibility and pipeline discipline
Support improvements in resource organization, vendor database consistency, and showroom support processes
Recommend workflow enhancements that improve readiness for progression into Account Executive or Account Manager pathways
Sales Support & Professional Development
Support Account Executives and Account Managers with administrative, client‑facing, and sales coordination tasks
Maintain professional and technical knowledge through sales meetings, manufacturer trainings, and product presentations
Continue advancing industry and career knowledge through networking, market activities, and client‑facing engagement opportunities
Build foundational pipeline management, design support, and consultative selling skills in preparation for progression into more advanced sales roles
What Success in This Role Looks Like Success in this role is demonstrated by strong showroom ownership, responsive client support, accurate quote and order coordination, and disciplined CRM follow‑up that helps convert inbound and mid‑market opportunities. The Account Associate creates a strong client experience, contributes to revenue and gross profit goals, and steadily builds the product knowledge, consultative selling, and design support skills needed for progression into Account Executive or Account Manager roles.
Key Selection & Success Factors Work Experience
6 months 1 year of sales experience required
Office furniture, commercial interiors, workplace solutions, or showroom sales experience preferred
Experience supporting CRM workflows, quoting, client follow‑up, or pipeline management strongly preferred
Experience in hospitality, design showroom, or mid‑market consultative sales environments preferred
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Marketing, Interior Design, Communications, Sales, Hospitality, or related field
High school diploma or GED required
Coursework in sales, workplace design, customer experience, or consultative business development preferred
Preferred Qualifications
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and CRM systems required
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
Excellent customer service and consultative communication skills
Strong time management, prioritization, and multitasking ability
Ability to work effectively with diverse teams, clients, and vendors
Strong judgment, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills
Ability to adapt quickly as business priorities evolve
Ability to perform effectively in a fast‑paced, interruption‑heavy showroom and sales environment
Strong interest in long‑term sales career progression within McCoy Rockford
Travel / Work Requirements
A valid driver's license and motor vehicle record that meets Company safety, operational, and insurance standards are required, as business travel between company locations, client sites, project sites, and other off‑site destinations may be required.

Employee occasionally lifts 2-3 reams of paper and customer files, especially during archiving.

Employee occasionally walks on level surfaces to: interact with all operational departments, retrieve needed materials, to access lobby display, and attend meetings. Duration 45 minutes per day; Distance up to 1,500 feet per day
Employee occasionally stands on level surfaces during interaction with customers and other personal. Duration 30 minutes per day
Employee continuously sits using the computer, talking on the phone, processing project paper work, and attending. Duration up to 7 hours per day
