About

Job Summary Performs Imaging procedures using gamma camera systems to obtain quality images. Injects radioisotopes in performance of testing.
Responsible for completing procedures in a caring, efficient, and safe manner in accordance with patient needs, department routines, radiologist requests and Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety guidelines. Job Responsibilities
Schedules patients and orders radionuclides. Surveys radioactive shipments after arrival and prior to return. Performs equipment quality control and verifies proper operation of equipment. Performs quarterly inventory of sealed sources. Verifies orders and documents clinical information. Assesses patient condition, explains procedure, and obtains consent. Verifies activity of nuclide doses. Prepares procedure room, equipment and supplies. Prepares and administers oral and intravenous radionuclides. Transports patients. Performs nuclear procedures. Surveys work areas and self for nuclide contamination and documents findings. Cleans and stocks procedure room. Develops films and transports patients. Enters exam and supplies charges. Actively supports the Network mission and vision. Displays competency for age specific patients: newborn through geriatrics. Displays competency for the Multi-skilled Imaging Tech - Nuclear Medicine role as evidenced in the annual performance appraisal following the FHN PRIDE Standards. Other duties may be assigned. Must take on-call responsibilities for nuclear medicine procedures. Must be able to respond within 45 minutes. RequirementsEducation: Associate's or Bachelor's degree from a college program or diploma from a hospital based program, with a specialty in Radiologic Technology or Nuclear Medicine Technology, and six to twelve months related experience. Required Experience: Specialized courses or training in Nuclear Medicine. Prefer ARRT in Radiography as well as Nuclear Medicine. Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Registration: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Nuclear Medicine or NuclearMedicine Technology Certifying Board (CNMT) is required. Licensure: Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety license in Nuclear Medicine is required. BLS Complexity of Work:
