Description: Conduct procedures and tests using Computerized Tomography (CT) equipment to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data. Verify patient identification and obtain patient history. Assist patients and family members requiring extra attention and ensure patient understanding whenever possible. Ensure patient safety and document pregnancy status for patients of childbearing age. Obtain images per protocols and manipulate images according to protocols. Perform multi-planar and 3D reconstruction of image data. Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of CT algorithms and select appropriate window and level settings according to anatomy. Administer oral contrast to adult and pediatric patients according to protocols. Establish intravenous lines and administer IV contrast following safe and proper injection procedures. Follow correct procedures to determine contrast eligibility and check appropriate lab values before contrast injection. Maintain a thorough understanding of image transfer systems and transmits images accurately. Verify and segment images at the quality control station. Access service tools to verify image transmission and manage orders in an appropriate and timely manner. Ensure all charge information is accurate and verify that all appropriate demographic information is on the images. Perform tasks in a timely manner and run the schedule to create consistent workflow. Volunteer to work on challenging tasks and new research. Produce quality diagnostic images and review patient charts and reports for correlation. Maintain a clean and orderly work environment. Create and keep documentation of incidents as improvement opportunities for the department. Precept new employees and students.
