OUR MISSION
The Red River, Atchafalaya & Bayou Boeuf Levee District serves portions of Avoyelles, Rapides & St. Landry parishes. Levees in the district include Red River Levee, Big Bend-Bayou Des Glaises Loop Levee, Rigolette Levee, Mansura Hills to Hamburg Levee, Bayou Des Glaises Fuse Plug Levee, West Atchafalaya River Levee, and West Atchafalaya Basin Protection Levee. The District has 5 commissioners. There are 19 employees, with maintenance crews in each parish. Heavy equipment is maintained for levee and drainage maintenance
OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
The Mobile Equipment Operator 2 position is a valuable part of the Red River, Atchafalaya & Bayou Boeuf Levee District because of their function of work to operate equipment and perform incidental repair, levee board projects and other construction tasks. Assist other RRABB employees in completing levee board projects. This incumbent will work under the supervision of Levee Foreman B.
Minimum Qualifications
One year of experience in mobile equipment operations.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Operates tractors with cutters to mow and grade levees (>100 hp).
Performs incidental repair, levee inspections, levee board projects and other construction tasks. Assist other RRABB employees in equipment maintenance and repair.
Operates auxiliary equipment including but not limited to welders, torches, small power equipment, dump trucks, backhoes or any other equipment listed for lower graded operators’ positions.
Operate crew truck traveling to work locations.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Probational appointment - up to 24 months
Career Progression: This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group.
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
