Description
Conduct thorough evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients using standardized assessments and observation techniques. Design customized treatment strategies that cater to immediate and long-term goals pertaining to communication, cognitive skills, or swallowing difficulties. Facilitate personalized speech therapy sessions that focus on language, fluency, voice, and swallowing techniques. Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team including therapists, nurses, physicians, family members, and caregivers to ensure a holistic approach to patient care. Provide education to patients and families to reinforce progress beyond therapy sessions. Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and treatments, ensuring seamless care throughout the patient's journey. Maintain comprehensive and timely documentation in adherence to state, federal, and institutional regulations. Engage in ongoing education and peer collaboration to keep abreast of advancements in your field. Education
Master of Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those who are not yet ASHA-certified. Certifications
Valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) issued by ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire. Skills
Expertise in evidence-based treatment modalities for diverse age groups, with a solid understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Capability to tailor therapy strategies to accommodate various cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Strong clinical judgment and adept problem-solving skills.
