JOB SUMMARY
The Student Radiologic Technologist is an enrolled radiography student who performs diagnostic imaging procedures under the direct supervision of a licensed Radiologic Technologist. This role supports patient care by assisting with imaging exams while gaining hands-on clinical experience in compliance with ARRT educational standards, departmental policies, and all applicable regulatory requirements. Reporting Structure: Works under the direct supervision of a Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)and Radiology Director MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSEducation Currently enrolled in an ARRT-approved Radiography Program (Associate or Bachelor degree). Must be in good academic standing with the radiography program. Letter of good standing required from the Program Instructor. Eligibility to sit for the ARRT Radiography Certification Exam upon program completion. Priority job placement is given at graduation and successful completion of registry if positions are available. License/Certification Current BLS (American Heart Association or equivalent), or ability to obtain prior to clinical start. CORE COMPETENCIES

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Perform radiographic procedures under the direct supervision of a licensed Radiologic Technologist in accordance with ARRT standards. • Verify patient identification, explain procedures, and provide appropriate patient care and comfort. • Assist with patient positioning, image acquisition, and equipment operation while maintaining image quality standards. • Practice radiation safety principles, including ALARA, proper shielding, and exposure control. • Prepare examination rooms and ensure imaging equipment is clean, functional, and stocked. • Accurately document procedures in the electronic medical record as directed. • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations. • Demonstrate professionalism, ethical behavior, and effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members. • Participate in clinical competencies and evaluations required by the radiography education program. • Adhere to hospital policies, infection control standards, and safety protocols. OTHER DUTIES
Performs other duties as required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift patients or equipment as needed. Manual dexterity to operate imaging equipment. Visual and auditory acuity sufficient for safe patient care and image evaluation. Must be able to see with corrective eye wear Must be able to hear clearly with assistance May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases May be in contact with patients under a variety of circumstances Able to handle emergency or crisis situations May be occasionally subject to irregular work hours May be required to wear protective equipment as necessary Ability to perform effectively in a stressful and fast-paced environment.
Ability to pass all required health and other screening tests including random and reasonable suspicion drug screens.
