Position Summary The purpose of this position is to fulfill the university's mission to help students develop in mind, body and spirit providing care, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries and sports related illnesses to student athletes in all Concordia University sports. This position is responsible for providing care at home and away contests. Job Duties and Responsibilities
Provide appropriate care, prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries and illnesses to all patients. Serve as the primary Licensed Athletic Trainer for certain teams, as assigned by the Director of Sports Medicine Assist with the management, organization, coordination, and supervision of the Athletic Training Room operations and the Athletic Training Department Serve as a Preceptor and supervise Athletic Training Students during their clinical rotations Work cooperatively with the consulting physician and each coach in creating and implementing programs to meet the needs of Concordia's intercollegiate athletes Conduct himself/herself in a professional manner at all times Perform other related duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) accreditation requirements is preferred Excellent organizational abilities and interpersonal communication skills Ability to work independently and maintain a schedule Knowledge and skill in the use of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Access and Word; and academic software Supportive of the mission and values of Concordia University Wisconsin/Ann Arbor and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS) Education and Experience
A bachelor's degree in a related field is required; a master's degree is preferred Minimum of two years of experience as a practicing BOC Certified Athletic Trainer preferred Must have certification through the BOC and be eligible for Wisconsin licensure Prior supervision of Athletic Training Students preferred Available days, evenings, and weekends; including extensive travel with teams and occasional overnight travel Physical Demands/Equipment Compensation and Benefits This is a full-time position.
