We are seeking a competent, conscientious, service-oriented experienced Endoscopy Technician to join our team in one of our gastroenterology medical offices in Zephyrhills. This role is ideal for someone who is confident in a fast-paced outpatient environment, comfortable with high volume patient loads, and able to integrate quickly with minimal training. This individual will provide selected care for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures and support the clinician in the exam rooms. They will work under the direction of the division's Physicians and Practice Manager/Office Lead. Requirements: Minimum: High school graduate with 2 year of medical office experience serving as a Medical Assistant utilizing EMR/practice management systems. Must have the ability to multitask, take initiative, and work in a fast-paced medical environment. Must possess a current GI Tech Certificate. Preference: Certified Medical Assistant; At least 1 year of experience as an Endoscopy Technician; Preference may be given to candidates meeting minimum requirements who have work experience from employers that emphasize excellent customer service (e.g. Publix, Disney, Chick-fil-A). Some openings will require Spanish fluency. Role:
Responsible for collecting and recording patient data (such as vitas, history, reason for visit) accurately & efficiently. Readily provides medical chart info (including from outside practices and labs). Assists in patient intake, transport, paperwork, and recordkeeping of physician observations, as directed. Prepare and maintains endoscopy instruments and equipment accordance with industry standards, regulations and Gastro Florida & division policies. Verifies proper equipment functioning and performs safety checks. Maintains proper logs and required recordkeeping of equipment. Prepare rooms and maintains a hygienic and organized area. Prepare specimens obtained during the procedure in accordance to standards. Assists in clinical service (including phlebotomy if appropriate) as directed by physician and within CMA/State of Florida scope. Assists with patient education; Communicates physician instructions and helps facilitate follow up visits. Responds to patient inquiries/triages calls in a timely and professional manner. Distributes information regarding equipment or instruments at in-service training sessions. Participates in the planning and coordination of the endoscopy procedure patient schedules. Validates and refreshes basic professional skills through active participation at in-service trainings. Performs other related duties as assigned.
