Pediatric Phlebotomist Provides pediatric technical expertise in specimen collection/processing and clerical support for test order management and report distribution. Provides excellent customer service to internal/external customers while demonstrating a positive and professional image at all times. Actively promotes a lean work culture by performing team leader duties to ensure consistent use of lean principles and processes, including continually seeking work process improvements. Assists leadership team with administrative and technical support as required. Recognizes necessity of taking ownership of own motivation, morale, performance, and professional development. Five years of experience in pediatric phlebotomy
Preferred Qualifications
One year of employment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Experience as a preceptor Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Basic Life Support (BLS)
Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Certification Summary
American Society for Clinical Pathology phlebotomy registration or eligible
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Job Responsibilities
Performs technical and clerical functions of phlebotomist as outlined in job description. Uses critical thinking principles in making decisions that lead to desired outcomes. Provides leadership and technical support for phlebotomy staff. Manages workflow and daily tasks. Trains/orients new employees. Performs administrative tasks to ensure services are delivered in a financially responsible manner through management of staff scheduling, workload reporting, supply inventory, and purchasing. Demonstrates familiarity with and follows system and departmental policies and procedures, including those pertaining to safety and compliance. Maintains and monitors equipment, supplies, and work area. Ensures safe environment which is functional as well as professional in appearance and safe for patients, the public, and staff. Actively promotes a lean culture by performing duties to promote an understanding and consistent use of lean principals and processes. Performs duties, makes decisions, takes actions, and continually strives to improve work processes using an awareness of how work performed is valued by the customer. Performs other duties as required by the department.
