Position Overview We are seeking a highly organized, compassionate, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our Avon office. This position requires experience in both front-office and back-office medical assisting. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, strong clinical and administrative abilities, and a commitment to providing outstanding patient care. This role is essential to ensuring efficient office operations, maintaining clinic flow, and delivering a positive patient experience. Key Responsibilities Front Office Responsibilities
Greet patients and manage check-in and check-out processes. Schedule appointments and coordinate provider calendars. Answer and route incoming phone calls professionally and efficiently. Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and registration details. Collect co-pays, deductibles, and self-pay balances. Assist with daily cash reconciliation and payment processing. Prepare and organize patient paperwork and office documentation. Manage referrals and medical records requests. Support prior authorization workflows as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.
Back Office Responsibilities
Room patients and obtain vital signs, including blood pressure, height, weight, and pain scores. Perform patient intake and update medical histories. Document patient information accurately within the Electronic Health Record (EHR). Prepare examination and procedure rooms. Assist providers with patient care and clinic flow. Coordinate patient follow-up care and communicate provider instructions. Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality at all times.
General Responsibilities
Collaborate effectively with providers, medical assistants, front office staff, and leadership. Support operational initiatives and special projects as assigned. Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and a patient-centered approach in all interactions.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required. Medical Assistant certification or healthcare-related education preferred. Minimum of one year of experience in a medical office setting preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical workflows, and office procedures. Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office applications. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Professional demeanor with a strong commitment to patient service. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
