Position: Locum Tenens Hematology/Oncology Physician / Hematology Oncologist
Start Date: August 1, 2026
End Date: July 1, 2027
Estimated Weekly Pay: $10,000 - $11,850
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm (office hours)
Weekend Rounds: Assigned weekends, 4 hours per day onsite
Call: After-hours phone call for urgent matters, no in-person return required
Patient Volume: 12-15 patient encounters per shift
Travel: Possible travel up to 2 days per week to Somerset office (approx 30 minutes)
Duration: 11 months with locums-to-perm potential
Job Requirements Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology and Oncology
Active Pennsylvania medical license or participation in the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact with Letter of Qualification (IMLC LOQ)
Completion of Pennsylvania-mandated education: 3 hours child abuse recognition/reporting and 4 hours pain management/opioid prescribing
Fellowship training in Hematology/Oncology
Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in hematology/oncology practice
Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive outpatient hematology and oncology care, including chemotherapy oversight and infusion coordination
Perform hospital rounds and inpatient consults on assigned weeks
Participate in assigned weekend hospital rounds (4 hours per day)
Supervise and collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and infusion teams
Respond to after-hours urgent patient calls; no in-person return required
Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and care coordination with nurse navigators
Travel to outlying Somerset office as needed
