Responsibilities:
The Technologist Aide in Diagnostic Radiology will assist the Registered Technologist in the performance of their duties. This will include, but not be limited to, the following: room preparation and cleaning; answering phones; transfer of information; transfer patient to/from Radiology; transfer of a patient from stretcher to the table; and other duties with which the technologist requires assistance to work more effectively and efficiently Accurately prepares room and patient for a procedure, assuring all needed exam equipment is available before the start of the examination Including daily x-ray room QC, stocking supplies, etc. Collect information by interviewing the patient, family, or significant other and other health care providers Provides safe and efficient patient transfers to and from the radiology department and supporting departments, ensuring optimization of imaging can occur Implements departmental and facility standards by following the established policies and procedures Effectively communicate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care Readily and willingly contributes to the team approach, to provide the best possible patient care and service Upon completion of the procedure, properly cleans and organizes room and performs any necessary cleaning of equipment as established by departmental policies and procedures standards Upload and Burn CDs as requested by patients, providers, and associated departments
PRE-REQUISITES:Education: High school graduate or equivalent.

Machinery or Equipment Used:
Computers, standard office equipment, wheelchairs, stretchers, oxygen cylinders and regulators
Physical Demands:
Occasional: sitting, lifting up to 55 lbs., kneeling, crouching, overhead reaching, downward pull and upward push of 50 lbs.
Frequent: bending, squatting, stooping, pushing/pulling.
Constant: standing & walking
Working Conditions:
Exposure to electrical, mechanical, and radiant energy hazards, exposure to blood borne pathogens. Exposure to crisis situations and unpleasant elements of acute traumatic injuries, occasional stress due to workload and competing priorities. Occasional subject to irregular hours
Required Protective Equipment:
Plastic/lead aprons (full bib), gloves, gowns, goggles, masks, face shield as situation requires
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assists the radiologic technologist in preparing for diagnostic procedures on patients.
Adapts procedures under the direction of the radiologic technologist according to protocol to meet the individual needs of the patient, the provider, and the situation Identifies and performs radiation safety measures according to regulatory agency and policy guidelines Uses proper techniques to identify the patient and the testing to be performed
Communicates with patients, team members, and management in an accurate and timely manner.
Talks with and listens to patients/team members Completes timely clinical documentation Uses all electronic systems to appropriately manage the patient experience Protects confidentiality of patient/colleagues Performs clerical duties as needed to communicate with FAHC, providers, other departments
Assists nurse and technologist with vital signs during Cardiac Stress Tests. Applies critical thinking skills and considers alternatives.
Organizes multitask workload Prioritizes tasks/work Collects/integrates data from multiple sources Organizes/delivers care for multiple priorities Coordinates workflow among co-workers to maintain adequate coverage for scheduled and non-scheduled exams
