A leading engineering solutions provider in the water sector is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to take ownership of mechanical design activities across a portfolio of treatment, storage, and infrastructure projects. This role suits an experienced engineer who enjoys technical leadership, delivering high‑quality designs, and working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment. Key Responsibilities
Mechanical system design - Lead the design of mechanical systems, assemblies, and equipment for water and wastewater applications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications. 3D modelling and drafting - Produce detailed 3D models, GA drawings, fabrication drawings, and BOMs using modern CAD platforms. Technical leadership - Mentor junior engineers and designers, reviewing work for accuracy, safety, and compliance. Project coordination - Collaborate with project managers, process engineers, and site teams to ensure designs integrate seamlessly into wider project scopes. Stakeholder engagement - Participate in design reviews, clarify technical requirements, and provide expert input throughout the project lifecycle. Standards and compliance - Ensure all designs meet relevant water industry regulations, internal quality procedures, and safety standards.
