Physician Assistant Job Title: Physician Assistant Location: Barnabas Health Medical Group Department Name: NBI Bariatric Program Req #: 0000248146 Status: Salaried Shift: Day Pay Range: $125,000.00 - $195,000.00 per year Pay Transparency: The above reflects the anticipated annual salary range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Job Overview: The Physician Assistant will be responsible for managing health problems, coordinating health care, and assisting in surgery for Dept, of Bariatrics patients. The successful candidate will function in full compliance with State and Federal rules and regulations and the nursing standards of care. Perioperative preparation and postoperative clinical management will be conducted in collaboration with the attending physician and other health care professionals. They will assist in the development of the center and the accreditation process, and ensure continuous compliance with MBSAQIP requirements. Required Licenses:
Valid license/certificate as a Physician Assistant in the State of NJ DEA License Possess a current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) Possess a current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Job Responsibilities:
Interacts on a frequent, regular and daily basis with patients, family members, medical/social/public services support, regulatory agencies and/or payor agencies Interaction and communication requires expressed empathy, understanding, problem-solving, education, information gathering, process influencing and counseling Obtain complete, detailed and accurate patient histories, review patient records, perform physical exams, and record all pertinent data to develop comprehensive medical status, diagnosis and clinical treatment plan for all assigned patients Maintains current licensure and continuing medical education credits as required by New Jersey State Law Communicates treatment / therapy progress with individuals who have the responsibility or control in patient care intervention Assists with surgical cases in the OR Prescribe medication, write orders, perform procedures and respond to emergency and/or immediate condition changes of acute, critically ill patients Refers patients to appropriate licensed physician or other health care provider as condition or circumstances warrant
