Note: Benefits may vary based upon position type and/or level. Job Summary The Respiratory Coordinator will lead by developing, facilitating, coordinating, and evaluating educational programs that support the organization's mission, vision, and values. Essential Functions of the Role
Provides direction to the staff by developing, coordinating and evaluating education programs to promote staff education.
Drives compliance with regulatory agencies and organizational policies. Maintains procedures governing the operation of the area of responsibility.
Creates and maintains all employee aptitude files including but not limited to: Licensure, certifications and initial/annual competencies.
Performs regular rounds in areas of operation in order to evaluate overall performance of the staff.
Leads to build relationships among service areas and other hospital departments while fostering intra-and inter-department problem solving.
Serves as a content professional in Respiratory Therapy.
Develops policies and procedures appropriate for the operations of the respiratory care department.
Initiates and effectively participates in departmental quality improvement.
Participates in education and performance improvement activities to enhance and maintain personal departmental qualifications and standards of performance.
Key Success Factors
Advanced knowledge of Respiratory Care modalities, therapies, equipment and medications.
Must be able to work under stressful conditions.
Must have proficient critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Must be able to communicate thoughts clearly both orally and in writing.
Ability to follow established safety, infection control, and isolation procedures at all times.
Ability to effectively use a variety of teaching methods.
General computer skills, including but not limited to data entry, information security, electronic medical documentation, handheld scanning and email.

EDUCATION - Associate's or 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
EXPERIENCE - Less than 1 Year of Experience
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION -
Basic Life Support (BLS), Cardiopulmonary Resuscitate (CPR): BLS or CPR Required. Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP), Registered Nurse (RN), Reg Respiratory Therapist (RRT): Must have both RCP and RRT, or be a Registered Nurse.
