About
Prepares surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies. Hands required and requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery. Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients. Maintains instruments in an organized manner and monitors and tracks instruments counts throughout procedures. Assists surgeons' provision of hemostasis during surgery.
Complexity of Work: Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment. Personal Protective Equipment: Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Education: High school diploma/GED required • Must be able to speak, read, write and follow instructions in English. Licensure / Certification / Registration:
BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse credentialed from the New York Board of Nursing.
Certifications / Licensure:
Practical/Vocational Nurse credentialed from New York State obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. BLS Provider obtained within three (3) Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

Problem solving skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Word, Excel Strong organizational skills. Effective interpersonal skills. Ability to work as part of a team and independently. Must be able to read and follow instructions. Must be able to speak, read, write and follow instructions in English.
