About
The SLP serves as a liaison with medical and community service providers on behalf of children with disabilities and their families. Salary: The full salary range for this position is $60,966.00 - $100,145.00. Salary placement is based on education and certificated experience. Essential Functions:
Inform principals, teachers and other school personnel of speech, language and/or hearing services. Organize and conduct an identification program for communication disorders by utilizing screening criteria, materials, procedures and record-keeping strategies. Select and employ diagnostic procedures and develop guidelines for a comprehensive remediation program. Establish criteria for caseload selection and dismissal. Select and implement therapy strategies for modifying communicative behavior of each student with a speech, language and/or hearing disorder. Maintain a system to record all identification and evaluative data and continuous student performance information. Identify and define factors which determine the effectiveness of therapy. Redefine goals and modify therapy strategies consistent with the individual education plan (IEP) or the individual family service plan (IFSP). Consult with parents, educators and other professionals regarding needs of children/students to assure appropriate learning experiences. Complete all required reports and records for compliance within statutory guidelines. Provide technical assistance to communication technicians and assistants. Maintain regular attendance to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the position.
Minimum Qualifications:
Hold or eligible to hold a Washington ESA speech language pathologist certificate. Completed all requirements for a master's degree with a major in speech pathology
(except
special project or thesis). Experience working with children with articulation and language disabilities. Experience in the identification, assessment, programming and evaluation of children with language disabilities.
Working Conditions:
Travel within ESD 112 Special Education ESA service region.
May be assigned to more than one school building/district.
