NYS Nursing Assistant Certification BLS certification (must be through AHA or RQI) Minimum 1-year experience as a licensed CNA in a long-term care setting
Roles & Responsibilities:
Assist residents with daily living needs such as hygiene, grooming, dressing, and toileting according to care plans. Maintain resident safety and environment by responding to call lights and following safety protocols. Support residents during meals, assisting with feeding and honoring food preferences. Assist with residents' mobility and rehabilitation needs, including transfers and proper positioning. Take and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure. Provide companionship and support for residents' social and emotional needs.
Occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens is reasonably anticipated. Required tasks may lead to contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues.
