Description
Evaluate patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric age groups via standardized assessments and observational methods. Craft individualized treatment plans that focus on both immediate and sustained communication, cognitive, or swallowing aims. Deliver focused speech therapy sessions emphasizing communication, language development, fluency, voice, and swallowing. Partner with colleagues from physical therapy, nursing, occupational therapy, and medical staff to align care strategies. Provide essential education for patients and their families to promote progress beyond therapy sessions. Occasionally conduct inpatient speech therapy evaluations and deliver interventions to ensure seamless continuity of care. Keep detailed and timely records in accordance with state, federal, and organizational guidelines. Engage in lifelong learning by staying updated on the latest advancements in the field through continued education and collaboration with peers. Education
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet obtained. Certifications
State license as a Speech Language Pathologist. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be secured within 30 days of starting employment. Skills
