The Team Lead - Extrusion is a crucial role responsible for leading and optimizing extrusion operations. This position requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of extrusion processes, materials, and equipment. The Team Lead will be expected to supervise a team, drive production efficiency, and ensure adherence to quality standards. This role demands strong leadership, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:- Lead and supervise the extrusion team, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations.
- Monitor and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to production, quality, and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot extrusion process issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Oversee the scheduling of production runs, coordinating with other departments to meet customer demands.
- Ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and maintain a safe working environment.
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures, ensuring product specifications are met.
- Coach and mentor team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications for data analysis and reporting.
- Participate in and contribute to process improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Effectively communicate with team members, management, and other departments regarding production status and issues.
- Thorough knowledge of extrusion processes and equipment.
- General knowledge of production management principles.
- Working knowledge of quality control procedures.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including supervision of a team.
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Experience with problem-solving and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.
- Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Experience with Continuous Improvement Process methodologies.
- Experience in a similar role within the extrusion industry.
- Associate's degree or equivalent in a related field.
- Familiarity with workflow management systems.
