Description
Conduct thorough evaluations for patients spanning all age groups using trusted assessments and observational methods. Create individualized treatment plans tailored to short-term goals and overarching communication, cognitive, and swallowing needs. Deliver focused one-on-one speech therapy aimed at enhancing communication, fluency, voice, and swallowing. Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to develop unified care strategies. Provide essential education to patients and families to facilitate ongoing progress in their speech and communication journeys. Participate in inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions on occasion, ensuring seamless continuity in patient care. Maintain precise and timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational standards. Engage with ongoing learning and professional development through continuing education and peer interaction. Education
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited educational institution. Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if you are not yet ASHA-certified. Certifications
Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire. Skills
Expertise in evidence-based treatment modalities across all age ranges, coupled with a deep understanding of developmental and acquired communication disorders. Outstanding interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and colleagues. The ability to adapt therapeutic approaches to meet the cultural and linguistic diversity of clients. Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving prowess.
