Responsibilities:
Directly facilitate individual and group speech and language therapy in the classroom and other school settings as a member of a collaborative team. Support classroom staff in implementing strategies to improve speech and language skills for each student. Assess students to determine skill, strengths, and needs in the area of speech and language. Support student's use of AAC (Augmentative and Alternate Communication) devices. Complete, maintain, and submit documentation (including billable sessions for Medical Assistance, daily logs, progress reports, IEP documentation) based on established guidelines. Participate and implement students' behavioral plan along with members of the team. Function as a treatment team member and attends all team conferences and meetings. Facilitate the development of all treatment goals, objectives, interventions, and approaches as they relate to the IEP. Responsible for case management of students' outside-agency providers, as applicable. Serve as a liaison to resources in the community. Attend trainings and meetings as required. Provide periodic staff development training relating to language development or specific strategies used within the school program. Perform all duties within contract, state and federal regulations, company policy, and regulatory agency standards. May be required to drive vehicles, be insurable with our auto insurance provider, and complete company vehicle training.
Qualifications: Master's Degree in Speech and Language Pathology and at least 1 year of experience working with children diagnosed with autism, preferably in a school setting. Individuals seeking Clinical Fellowship will also be considered. Must have license or be eligible for provisional licensure as a speech-language pathologist by the state specific Department of Health and Mental Hygiene at time of appointment and continuously throughout tenure in position.
