Massage Instructor The contract will begin in August of 2026. Job Description Mountain Gateway Community College (MGCC) is a two-year public institution of higher education and one of 23 community colleges in Virginia. The college is supported by the Commonwealth of Virginia; the counties of Alleghany, Bath, Botetourt (northern portion) and Rockbridge; the cities of Buena Vista, Covington, and Lexington; and the town of Clifton Forge. MGCC provides opportunities for the extension of knowledge, skills and personal enrichment in an environment that maintains high academic standards and respect for each individual. The college strives to keep programs and services financially and geographically accessible for all students. Credit and non-credit courses are offered to meet life-long learning needs. On-site and distance learning options incorporate up-to-date technologies. We are seeking an energetic and experienced Massage Therapy Instructor with at least three years of hands-on experience for fall 2026. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in diverse massage techniques, a dedication to ongoing professional growth, and a true passion for educating and guiding aspiring massage therapists. Qualifications Successful candidates will have the following qualifications:
Certificate of completion from a Massage Therapy program Licensed Massage Therapy in Virginia At least three years of experience as a Licensed Massage Therapy
Ethics and Professionalism: Understanding of professional ethics, client boundaries, and legal regulations related to massage therapy. Health and Wellness Principles: Awareness of holistic health concepts and wellness strategies. Business Practice: Understanding of the business aspects of running a massage therapy practice, including marketing, client relations, and financial management. Effective Communication: Ability to convey complex information verbally and in writing. Curriculum Development: Ability to design and develop lesson plans, course materials, and assessment tools. Conflict Resolution: Ability to address and mediate disagreements or misunderstandings in a professional manner. Critical Thinking: Capability to analyze and evaluate situations to make informed decisions regarding student training and curriculum. Leadership: Ability to motivate and inspire students while maintaining authority in the classroom. Additional Information The instructor will be teaching in-person instruction.
