Performing thorough patient assessments, prescribing diagnostic tests, and crafting tailored care strategies Identifying and managing acute, episodic, or chronic health conditions, working collaboratively with physicians or autonomously as credentialed Instructing patients and families on preventive strategies, wellness, and managing health conditions Prescribing medications and therapies in accordance with your scope of practice Engaging in patient follow-ups and chronic care initiatives Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide cohesive, patient-focused care Keeping meticulous and accurate records in electronic medical records (EMR) Education Needed
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program Necessary Certifications
Active Nurse Practitioner licensure in California National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or an equivalent specialty Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or willingness to obtain within 90 days) Qualities That Will Stand Out
