Support and reinforce a positive safety culture across all company operations Assist in maintaining compliance with OSHA, MSHA, and DOT/FMCSA regulations Conduct safety inspections at job sites, plants, and facilities Coordinate and document safety meetings and trainings Assist with development and delivery of employee safety training, including new hire orientation Participate in incident response, including investigations and documentation Help maintain OSHA logs, safety records, and regulatory reporting requirements Assist with job safety analyses and implementation of safe work practices Support regulatory inspections and documentation as directed Review driver safety videos and provide coaching feedback Collaborate with the Safety Director, HR, and field leadership on safety initiatives Respond to after-hours safety incidents as needed
What We're Looking For
2+ years of experience in safety or employee management (construction, mining, or similar industry preferred) Working knowledge of OSHA regulations; MSHA and DOT experience a plus Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently while following established procedures Punctual and reliable, with the ability to accommodate early morning start times as required by operations Solid organizational skills and attention to detail Comfortable working in both office and field environments
Skills and Experience Required:
Excellent communication, adherence to deadlines, and the ability to prioritize in an ever-changing environment Critical thinking and problem solving skills for complex and nuanced situations Well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to assess others' interests and tactfully deliver difficult messages Minimum of two years of experience in occupational health and safety, preferably in construction or mining industries; experience with DOT driver regulations is a plus. Job-related safety credentials such as OSHA 10/30/500 training, MSHA certification, or equivalent experience preferred. Valid Oregon driver's license required; must be insurable under company carrier.
