Description
Assess patients of all ages through standardized testing and observational analysis. Craft tailored treatment plans aimed at achieving immediate goals while supporting long-term speech, language, and swallowing development. Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions emphasizing communication techniques, fluency, voice rehabilitation, and swallowing strategies. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians, to develop holistic patient care plans. Educate patients and their families to bolster progress beyond therapy sessions. Occasionally provide inpatient evaluations and interventions, ensuring consistent care throughout the recovery journey. Keep precise documentation that complies with all state and organizational regulations. Engage in ongoing education and professional development to stay updated with the latest field advancements. Education
A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is mandatory unless ASHA certification is already obtained. Certifications
Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment. Skills
Knowledge of evidence-based treatment methodologies for diverse populations, along with an understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing issues. Exceptional interpersonal skills, enabling effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Adaptability in addressing cultural and linguistic variations in therapy approaches. Sound clinical judgment paired with strong problem-solving capabilities.
