Conduct thorough evaluations across all age groups utilizing both standardized tests and careful observation. Create individualized treatment plans that focus on both immediate and long-lasting communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges. Deliver precise speech therapy interventions tailored to enhance communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities. Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals, such as physical and occupational therapists, nurses, and family members to ensure a unified approach to care. Guide patients and their families with educational resources to bolster progress beyond their therapy sessions. Partake in occasional inpatient assessments and interventions, promoting seamless transitions throughout the therapy process. Document patient interactions accurately and in a timely manner, adhering to all relevant regulations and organizational standards. Engage in ongoing professional development through continuing education and collaborative opportunities with peers. Qualifications
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is a must if not yet certified by ASHA. Licenses and Certifications
State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist is required. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of joining the team. Essential Skills
Strong knowledge of evidence-based treatment methods applicable to all ages with a solid grasp on speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Exceptional communication abilities to actively engage with patients, their families, and the multidisciplinary care team. Skillful in tailoring therapy techniques to respect diverse cultural and linguistic needs. Above average clinical judgment coupled with analytical problem-solving skills.
