About

Communicable Disease Manager Wake County Public Health is seeking a dynamic and experienced Communicable Disease Manager to lead and oversee its Communicable Disease Program. This leadership role is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating a range of public health initiatives, including disease surveillance, tuberculosis control, refugee health, and health education. The manager ensures the delivery of high-quality, compliant, and data-driven services that protect and promote community health. The ideal candidate will be a Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in clinical and/or public health settings. Key responsibilities include:
Direct the strategic planning and daily operations of the Communicable Disease Program Lead program areas including: Communicable disease surveillance, Tuberculosis control, Refugee health services, Disease Intervention services, and health and education outreach Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal public health regulations Analyze epidemiological data to identify trends and guide prevention and control strategies Develop and monitor program goals, performance metrics, and timelines Manage program budgets, grants, and contracts Collaborate with healthcare providers, schools, long-term care facilities, and government agencies Lead and support multidisciplinary teams of clinical and non-clinical staff including: Communicable Disease Surveillance Team, Tuberculosis and Refugee Health Clinic, Communicable Disease Quality Assurance Team, and Disease Intervention Specialists
