About
Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Alloy/Revert Technician to join our 1st shift shipping and receiving team in Mentor. This role is essential for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant shipments while supporting production and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable working independently while maintaining strong communication with vendors, customers, and internal teams. Key Responsibilities
Schedule, coordinate, and prepare customer shipments including trucking, paperwork, and required certifications.
Ensure compliance with SOPs, EPs, and work instructions while maintaining quality and productivity standards.
Track inventory on shipping containers, supplies, and finished goods.
Monitor forklift operations and truck traffic to meet business needs efficiently.
Prepare final outgoing shipments: weighing, verifying quantities, banding, labeling, and loading onto carriers.
Affix shipping labels and complete necessary documentation including BOLs, customs forms, and certifications.
Proactively communicate issues, shortages, or discrepancies to Operations, Purchasing, or Customer Service teams.
Coordinate with Production Control and Sales to meet weekly customer commitments.
Implement and track cost reduction activities related to shipping and trucking.
Maintain dock supply inventory and ensure work area organization.
Provide shift-to-shift communication to keep team alignment on goals and priorities.
Follow all safety rules and procedures at all times.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Alloy Manager.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; relevant experience may substitute.
Minimum 1 year of experience in a shipping and receiving environment.
Forklift certification required (training provided if needed).
Strong computer and clerical skills.
Excellent time management and organizational skills with ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and off-hours when needed.
Strong sense of urgency, problem-solving ability, and ability to work independently.
Excellent verbal, written, and documentation skills.
Ability to maintain positive relationships with vendors, customers, contractors, and coworkers.
