As a Speech Language Pathologist in one of California's charming communities, your daily contributions will move beyond treating communication and swallowing issues. You'll foster confidence, open doors, and create connections that matter - from children mastering their first sentences to older adults regaining their self-sufficiency. This position offers you an incredible chance to work with individuals of all ages, from pediatric to geriatric, in a setting that seamlessly integrates outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient care. Description
Conduct thorough evaluations of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations using approved assessment tools and observational methods. Craft tailored treatment plans targeting both immediate objectives and longer-term needs related to communication, cognition, or swallowing. Deliver individualized speech therapy focused on language, communication, fluency, voice, and swallowing issues. Work in collaboration with physical and occupational therapists, medical staff, family members, and caregivers to forge unified care strategies. Equip patients and their families with knowledge to sustain progress outside of treatment sessions. Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and therapy, ensuring a consistent continuum of care. Keep meticulous and up-to-date documentation that aligns with state and organizational standards. Continuously enhance your skills through ongoing education and collaborative learning. Education
A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if you are not yet ASHA-certified. Certifications
A valid state license to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of starting employment. Skills
Expertise in evidence-driven approaches applicable across all age groups, with deep knowledge of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing challenges. Exceptional communication skills tailored for interaction with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Able to modify therapy techniques to cater to diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Strong clinical acumen and problem-solving skills. Comfortable working with electronic health records and documentation systems. Benefits
Attractive compensation reflecting experience. Flexible work schedules to promote work-life harmony and varied patient cases. Specialization opportunities in pediatrics, adult rehabilitation, or geriatrics. Comprehensive paid time off (PTO) and holiday packages. Health benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. Support for continuing education and professional growth. A collaborative team-oriented setting that prioritizes quality care and lifelong learning.
A Career That Inspires Growth and Connection In this position, your role will extend beyond providing therapy - you'll become part of a heartfelt mission to amplify voices, strengthen bonds, and instigate moments of joy through what makes us human: the ability to connect and communicate. You will collaborate with colleagues who are more like family in a nurturing environment that champions teamwork over competition. Every individual you treat embodies a storyline - together, you will help define how that story unfolds.
