Job Description The Adult Cardiac OR is dedicated to providing comprehensive care for a diverse range of patients, including those undergoing CABG, TAVI, heart failure treatments, VADs, ECMO, artificial hearts, and heart transplants. The Surgical Technologist will leverage their technical expertise to prepare instruments, equipment, and supplies for surgical procedures, alongside assisting the surgical team from the scrub position throughout operations. ResponsibilitiesPrepare instruments and equipment for surgical procedures in the Cardiac OR. Assist the surgical team during operations, primarily in a scrub role. Ensure proper care and handling of instruments and maintain sterile technique. Facilitate room turnover between surgical cases. Perform surgical counts as per hospital policy and demonstrate safe handling of sharps. Handle solutions and pharmacologic agents under the direction of a registered nurse. Required Experience / Certifications / LicensureNBSTSA Certification or a minimum of 10 years of experience as a Surgical Technician. Two (2) years of recent experience in a cardiac OR is required. Ability to scrub and circulate during surgical procedures. BLS Certification from the American Heart Association is required. Operating room experience in a level 1 trauma center is preferred.
