About
Provides day-to-day supervision of operational flow, delegating tasks as needed. Act as a technical resource to radiographers and radiologists. Maintain all required supplies and stock. In the absence of the Breast Imaging Manager, responsible for making decisions based on established protocols that would ensure continuity of patient care. In conjunction with, or in the absence of Breast Imaging Manager, oversees quality control of all breast imaging equipment per MQSA and DPH guidelines and breast imaging ACR accreditations. Follows departmental guidelines and protocols in performance of all procedures in Mammography/Breast Imaging. Follows departmental guidelines and protocols in scheduling and documentation of exams and maintaining accurate and complete records relative to the examinations performed. Performs quality control on all equipment according to standard procedures and regulatory guidelines. Confirms with patient two patient identifiers (Full Name & DOB). Checks requested exams for orders, indication, appropriateness and pertinent history. Adheres to state and federal requirements as they relate to radiation safety. Assures the consistency of all operating procedures and equipment within the guidelines of the ACR, Federal and State regulatory agencies and the Department of Radiology. Maintains all documentation necessary to obtain and retain certification and licensing by all agencies. Works with the Mammography Section Supervisor to ensure optimal quality images and patient satisfaction. Effectively manages the PACS technology by bringing exams to Reviewed Status and merging exams as needed. Demonstrates the ability to enter and edit orders in the EMR. Supports the interpreting radiologist to ensure all images and documentation are available to them immediately following the exam. Works in collaboration with the Breast Surgery Department in the imaging of their patients as needed for same day appointments.
Required Qualifications:
ARRT and MA License in Mammography and Radiology required. Minimum of three years of experience in diagnostic mammography preferred. Prior supervisory experience preferred. Prior experience with Digital Mammography, PACS preferred. AHA BLS certification required or obtained within 30 days of hire.

Physical Nature of the Job: Lifting of patients on and off x-ray table is required. Lifts 10-20 lbs. daily. Requires wearing lead aprons. Requires being in front of computers for several hours a day. May be exposed to occupational levels of diagnostic ionizing radiation and occasionally to hazardous chemicals (developer/fixer). Pay Range: $50.60 - $75.19 The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
