ABOUT SAFE IRELAND Safe Ireland National Social Change Agency CLG works to eradicate Domestic, Sex, Gender & Sexuality-Based Violence (DSGSBV) in Ireland. We recognise that DSGSBV is a widescale social problem that requires a nationwide county and community-based response at every level to ensure safe pathways out of abuse for women & children. We have four distinct functions: 1. Understanding domestic, sex, gender and sexuality-based coercion and violence to advance Government, commercial and civil society policy, practice and provision responses. 2. Providing and supporting frontline refuge, support and outreach services to SURVIVORS of DSGSBV 3. Supporting Safe Ireland member SERVICES 4. Developing domestic violence (DV) SECTORAL best practice for community based DSGSBV responses. We achieve our work through collaboration with our network of affiliated independent frontline DV services, and with National stakeholders There are 38 DV services affiliated as members of Safe Ireland. Each delivers local services including helplines, information/advocacy, crisis and move-on accommodation, Garda/court accompaniment, Welfare advice, and practical/emotional/therapeutic support for adults, young people and children. ABOUT THE ROLE The Academic Collaboration Lead, on behalf of Safe Ireland, will lead the scoping, engagement and partnership development across High Education Institutes (HEIs) to establish a national consortium. This consortium will design and deliver an accredited programme for specialist domestic violence staff in the Safe Ireland Members Network and beyond. The role will identify academic partners, and support the co-development of a sustainable, interdisciplinary academic programme aligned with national policy, professional training needs and QQI/NFQ standards. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES Identify and engage key stakeholders across Irish HEIs (Universities, Technological Universities and Institutes of Technology) and International Universities Build relationships with academic leads in relevant disciplines (Social work, law, criminology, public health, housing, psychology etc) Facilitate bilateral and multilateral meetings to assess appetite for consortium participation Map existing programmes and identify gap/opportunities for collaboration rather than duplication Support the establishment of a formal HEI consortium Coordinate cross-institutional working groups to progress programme design Work with academic partners to define programme aims, learning outcomes and structure Align with NFQ and QQI requirements Ensure practice-based, trauma-informed and interagency perspectives Facilitate input from key stakeholders- statutory and non-statutory Ensure alignment with national strategies and frameworks Support Education & Training Department projects as required Job Title: Academic Collaboration Lead Location: Hybrid: based in the Dublin Office 2 days per week with national travel Job Type:Part Time: 28hrs per week. 1 Year Fixed Term Contract from Date of Commencement Reports To:Education & Training Manager Salary Scale:HSE Consolidated Pay scales: Grade IV Clerical Point 1: €53,807.41 per annum, pro rata Probation Period:6 months Driver's License:Full, Clean Drivers License and access to a car is a requirement of this role References: Satisfactory written references are a requirement of this role ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Applicants will be assessed against the following requirements and are encouraged to use their applications to provide examples of how they meet these criteria. A postgraduate qualification (Level 9 or higher) in a relevant field Demonstrable experience working with or within Irish HEIs Proven experience in stakeholder engagement and partnership development Strong understanding of the Irish NFQ/QQI accreditation landscape Experience in programme design, curriculum development, or educational project management Experience working in the area of domestic violence/coercive control would be a distinct advantage Experience delivering or supporting training across multidisciplinary settings Strong ability to build relationships, influence practice and negotiate change with a wide range of stakeholders. Excellent analytical, writing and communication skills, including the ability to produce briefings and reports. DESIRABLE CRITERIA Experience establishing or working within multi-institutional consortia. Familiarity with professional training needs within sectors such as policing, social work, or healthcare. Experience engaging with statutory agencies (e.g. Tusla, An Garda Sochna).
