divh2Nursing Assistant I/h2pThe Nursing Assistant I performs basic nursing skills, personal care activities, and other tasks as delegated by and under the supervision of the RN/LPN as defined by the NC Board of Nursing./ppResponsibilities:/pulliProvides quality patient care which may include but is not limited to the following:/liulliMeasures vital signs including temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, etc./liliProvides personal care such as bathing, mouth care, skin care, hair care, nail care, bed making, and dressing/undressing/liliAssists with nutritional needs of patients by performing tasks such as preparing patients for meal time and feeding patients when needed/liliAssist patients with elimination needs through tasks such as use of bedpan/urinal, bowel/bladder training, collection of specimens, and perineal/catheter care/liliMeasure height and weight/liliMeasure and record intake and output/li/ulliAccurately documents patient care as provided and according to unit specific standards./liliPromotes effective communication between patients, teammates, physicians, and visitors./liliEnsures teamwork by demonstrating cooperative, constructive, and problem solving interactions./liliEnsures a safe, clean, and orderly environment for self, patients, and teammates./liliResponds appropriately and promptly in emergency situations./liliProvides assistance and customer service to patients and visitors./li/ulpEducation:/pulliCompletion of state approved Level I Nurse Aide training and competency evaluation program or its equivalent./liliHigh School Diploma or equivalent required, any higher education from an accredited college will supersede this requirement./li/ulpLicensure:/pulliCurrent Listing on the North Carolina Nurse Aide I registry./liliCertification in Basic Cardiac Life Support./li/ulpExperience:/pulliAt least one year in a health care setting preferred./li/ulpKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:/pulliAbility to provide excellent patient and customer care to all patients and their visitors as well as internal and external teammates./liliAbility to speak, read, write, and communicate effectively./liliAble to learn new software rapidly.
