McKenzie Craft is a luxury custom fabrication firm in Miami producing architectural millwork and casework for hospitality, retail, and luxury residential clients. Recent projects include Viceroy Brickell, Waldorf Astoria Sales Center, Casamar, Pier Sixty-Six, and The Residences at Shell Bay. We operate out of a 25,000 sq ft converted 1938 warehouse in Allapattah.
We are hiring a Controller to own financial reporting, cash flow, job costing, and internal controls while mentoring the finance team and supporting strategic decisions. This is a hands-on, operationally embedded role for someone ready to take the next step. You will start as Controller, promote to Director of Finance at the $15M revenue mark, and step into the CFO seat if we surpass $25M.
What you will do
Prepare GAAP financial statements and lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end closesManage cash flow, rolling forecasts, working capital, AR, AP, retainage, and billing cyclesMonitor job costing, gain/fade, and project profitability across labor, materials, freight, subs, and overheadPartner with the CEO and outside CPA on budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planningConduct variance analysis and build financial dashboards and KPI tracking systemsOversee sales tax, payroll tax, audits, banking relationships, lender reporting, and insurance renewalsMaintain internal controls, approval workflows, segregation of duties, and audit-ready documentationLead and develop the finance team, oversee payroll, and own the integrity of accounting systemsDrive automation, process improvement, and reporting standardization
What you bring
Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required. CPA preferredMinimum 7 to 10 years of accounting or financial management experienceManufacturing industry experience required. Millwork, construction, or subcontractor trade a strong plusMinimum 3 to 5 years of leadership experience preferredStrong QuickBooks experience requiredPrior ERP system experience requiredDeep knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and job costing methodologiesStrong command of budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and internal controlsHands-on and operationally involved. Comfortable on the shop floor, not just behind a deskCurious and inquisitive. Asks questions, digs into the numbers, understands the work behind them
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods at a desk and on a computerMust be able to lift up to 15 pounds at timesMust wear appropriate PPE when visiting job sites (steel-toed boots, eyewear, hard hats)
