Duties/Responsibilities:Phlebotomy/Laboratory Responsibilities:Assist in the conduct of clinical trials by performing phlebotomy and laboratory tasks in accordance with the study protocol, GCP, ICH Guidelines, and Velocity’s SOPsPerform venipuncture, capillary puncture and/or other fluid collection within scope of the protocol and local law and regulationsProcess, package and ship laboratory specimens as required per protocol and IATA regulations, if applicableTrack, order and maintain inventory of all laboratory and study related supplies throughout course of the clinical trialCommunicate with coworkers, leadership, study subjects, sponsors, CROs, and vendors under the direction of the Clinical Research TeamMaintain confidentiality of patient protected health informationEscalate potential patient safety issues to Clinical Research TeamClean, organize, and disinfect the patient care, lab and lab equipment areas as neededData Entry Responsibilities:Assist in the conduct of clinical trials by performing data entry tasks in accordance with the study protocol, GCP, ICH Guidelines, and Velocity’s SOPs under the direction of the Clinical Research TeamEnter source data into the sponsor's and/or vendor’s data portalResolve basic queries that do not require a change in the clinical source chart per Velocity SOPsEscalate missing and/or inconsistent data identified in the subject’s chart to Clinical Research TeamDemonstrate basic understanding of good documentation practices when transferring data to sponsor/CRO data capture systemsMaintain confidentiality of patient protected health informationFront Office/Admin Core:Maintain confidentiality of patient protected health informationPrepare source document charts, copy and/or file medical records and study related documents as requiredPerform front office duties as needed including but not limited to answering phones, scheduling subjects appointments, making reminder calls and updating patient tracking systemsInstruct patients on completing applicable paperwork upon check inOther duties as assigned
Education/Experience:High school graduate and/or technical degreeRequired Licenses/Certifications:Phlebotomy if applicable and required by state lawRequired Skills:Basic knowledge of medical terminologyBasic ability to use the following technology: Computers, Microsoft Office software, fax, copier, and multi-line telephone.Basic understanding of verbal, written, and organizational skillsAbility to work as a team playerAbility to read, write, and speak EnglishAbility to multi-taskAbility to follow written guidelinesAbility to be flexible/adapt as daily schedule may change rapidlyRequired Physical Abilities:Sit or stand for long periods of timeCommunicate in person and by a telephoneLimited walking requiredLimited to lifting up to 30 poundsNOTE: The above Job Description is intended to communicate the general function of the mentioned position and by no means should be considered an exhaustive or complete outline of the specific tasks and functions that will be required.
