About
This role will support small gas regulation station and regulator station projects (not large assets such as compressor stations).Conducting site visits, producing designs from IFR through As-Built, and generating full drawing packages for each phase.Create 3D models using CADWorx and translate them into fabrication and as-built drawings, while coordinating closely with engineers and project managers to ensure correct classifications and bills of materialsThe designer will own projects end-to-end.Work includes drafting and design, collaboration with engineers and operators, revising drawings, managing documentation, and occasionally traveling to project sites.Work closely with: Designers, Engineers, Project Managers, Operations staffDesigners work directly with engineers and operators, are expected to ask questions, and actively collaborate rather than simply following redlines.The team values independence, trust, and open communication.This role includes site visits to gas facilities, requiring safety awareness.Opportunity to work with CADWorx and 3D modelingTravel to sites such as Grand Junction or Alamosa may occur, typically as full-day trips
Qualifications:
3-5 years of drafting experienceUtility experience strongly preferredGeospatial, construction design, P&ID, architectural, or engineering drafting experience may translate wellUtility or utility-adjacent experience is highly desirablePrevious client utility experienceSAP (nice to have)Geospatial mapping experienceAbility to interpret drawings into real-world field applicationsUnderstanding of pipe specs and bills of materialsDocument control and revision managementStrong collaboration skillsAbility to work independently without micromanagementReceptiveness to feedbackClear communication with engineers and operations teamsHands-on design ownership (projects assigned to one designer)Collaborative culture with engineering and operations inputExposure to gas utility infrastructureSite visits and practical field connection to designsCADWorx (preferred) or comparable drafting tools
