Inventory Specialist
Lafayette, LA | Full-Time | On-Site
$18-$25/hr DOE
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Specialist to join our team in Lafayette, LA. In this role, you will be the backbone of our warehouse operations - ensuring that every product that leaves our facility meets the highest quality standards. You will manage incoming and outgoing stock, coordinate large shipments, and exercise sharp judgment to identify and remove any product that does not meet shipping requirements before it ever reaches a customer.
Key Responsibilities
Track and maintain accurate inventory levels across all product lines using inventory management software and manual counts.Receive, inspect, and process large shipments - verifying quantities, documenting discrepancies, and coordinating with vendors as needed.Conduct thorough quality checks on all outbound products; pull any item that does not meet shipping standards and arrange for replacement before dispatch.Organize and maintain a clean, efficient warehouse environment to support fast and accurate order fulfillment.Perform cycle counts and full physical inventory audits on a scheduled and as-needed basis.Collaborate with shipping, receiving, and procurement teams to ensure seamless product flow.Manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing accuracy.Flag and escalate damaged, mislabeled, or non-conforming products to supervisors with appropriate documentation.Assist in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) for inventory control.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or vocational training in logistics, supply chain, or a related field preferred.1-3 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or a similar role.Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify product defects, damage, or inconsistencies.Proven ability to multitask and manage competing priorities efficiently.Comfortable working with inventory management systems and basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, Excel).Strong organizational and time-management skills.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
