About
Conduct evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric groups using standardized measures and observational assessments. Create tailored treatment plans addressing both short-term objectives and long-term needs focused on communication, cognitive function, or swallowing. Engage in individual speech therapy sessions, focusing on aspects such as communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing. Work alongside physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop cohesive and comprehensive care plans. Provide educational support to patients and families, ensuring progress continues beyond clinical appointments. Assist with occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions to maintain consistency in patient care. Document treatment and assessments accurately, adhering to state, federal, and organizational standards. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in speech-language pathology through continuing education and professional collaboration. Education
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those yet to achieve ASHA certification. Certifications
Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hiring. Skills
Demonstrated proficiency in evidence-based treatment for patients of all ages, along with an understanding of both developmental and acquired communication disorders. Exceptional interpersonal communication abilities with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Capability to adapt therapeutic approaches to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Strong clinical insight and problem-solving skills.
