About
Provide comprehensive primary and preventive care to students in accordance with established clinical protocols and scope of practice. Assess, diagnose, and manage common acute and chronic health conditions in collaboration with supervising physicians and care teams as applicable. Conduct health screenings, routine evaluations, and follow-up assessments to support student wellness. Develop and implement individualized care plans for students with ongoing health needs. Administer medications and treatments as appropriate, following school, clinical, and regulatory guidelines. Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation of assessments, interventions, and outcomes. Collaborate with school nurses, counselors, teachers, administrators, and families to support student health and attendance. Provide health education and counseling to students and caregivers on wellness, prevention, and disease management. Respond to urgent health concerns and participate in emergency preparedness and crisis response as needed. Support compliance with applicable state, federal, and school health regulations.
Qualifications
Master’s or doctoral degree from an accredited nurse practitioner program. Current and unrestricted nurse practitioner licensure in the applicable state. National board certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the appropriate population focus. Current DEA registration, if required by role and state regulations. Clinical experience in pediatrics, family practice, or school-based care preferred. Strong assessment, diagnostic, and patient education skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and multidisciplinary teams. Knowledge of school health services, child development, and community resources preferred. Current CPR/BLS certification as required.
