READ BEFORE APPLYING – THIS IS A TECHNICAL EQUIPMENT ROLE This role is designed for experienced production operators who are mechanically confident and comfortable working with automated manufacturing equipment.
Position Overview The Processing Equipment Technician is responsible for operating, maintaining, and optimizing automated and semi-automated production equipment used in vape cartridge filling and pre-roll manufacturing. This is a high-accountability production role requiring precision, speed, and mechanical problem-solving ability. The technician is expected to identify and resolve equipment issues in real time to maintain production flow and product quality standards. Success in this role depends on consistency, mechanical confidence, attention to detail, and urgency in resolving operational issues.
Core Responsibilities
Vape Filling Operations
Set up, operate, calibrate, and break down vape cartridge filling equipment Verify fill weights and perform in-process quality checks Monitor oil temperature, viscosity, and equipment settings for consistency Identify and resolve clogs, leaks, misfires, and production inconsistencies Maintain accurate batch records in Canix and METRC systems Perform routine cleaning and preventive maintenance on equipment
Pre- Roll Production Operations
Operate automated and semi-automated pre-roll production equipment Monitor weight accuracy, pack density, and visual quality standards Adjust machine settings to maintain production specifications Execute SKU changeovers efficiently Assist with material staging (flower, cones, packaging components) Ensure finished goods meet all quality and compliance standards
Equipment & Production Accountability
Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues prior to escalation whenever possible Reduce downtime through proactive response to equipment issues Maintain production output aligned with daily and weekly targets Communicate equipment performance issues to supervisors and maintenance teams Support continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives
Compliance & Documentation
Accurately record batch data, weights, and inventory usage Follow GMP, sanitation, and safety procedures Ensure proper waste tracking and disposal per NYS cannabis regulations Maintain clean and organized work areas and equipment logs
Performance Expectations
Consistently meet or exceed daily production targets Maintain minimal variance in fill weights and production standards Demonstrate proactive troubleshooting to minimize machine downtime Ensure accurate and timely documentation and inventory reporting Exhibit reliability, consistency, and accountability in daily performance
Required Qualifications
Ability to read and follow SOPs and detailed instructions Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency under pressure Basic math skills (percentages, weights, conversions) Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Reliable transportation Ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated production environment
Strongly Preferred (Key Success Factors)
1+ years of experience operating manufacturing or production equipment (strongly preferred) Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated comfort working with automated systems (strongly preferred and critical for success in this role) Prior experience in production, packaging, or equipment-based manufacturing environments Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot mechanical or operational issues in real time
Working Conditions
Exposure to production environments (dust, noise, heat, humidity) Regular interaction with mechanical and electrical equipment Required use of PPE (hair nets, gloves, safety glasses, etc.) Extended periods of standing and repetitive motion
