About
Assists technologists and technicians within the department. Lead staff, through employee engagement, by assisting manager and system supervisors. Demonstrate proficiency in lab information systems. Other duties as assigned. Competency and Experience [Knowledge, Skills and Abilities]Required Qualifications/Experience (please add any additional requirements) Bachelor’s degree or higher level of education from an accredited MT, MLT or clinical laboratory science program in the field of Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science and Four (4) years of Clinical Laboratory experience Zero (0) to Two (2) years supervisory/management experience in a Clinical Laboratory setting. Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects and liability of functional area. Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience.
Ability to apply statistical principles to determine reliability and validity of test, normal curves and analysis of variance in correlation techniques. Interprets an extensive variety of technical diagnoses.
Knowledge of laboratory regulations and practices Preferred Qualifications/Experience (please add any additional requirements) Experience in Healthcare setting. License, Certification & Clearances (please add any additional requirements) Registry eligible for MLS (ASCP) at time of hire or obtain within Fifteen (15) months of hire or transfer into the role. American Society of clinical Pathologist Specialty Certification or equivalent certification in the discipline that they supervise preferred Act 34-PA Criminal Record Check from the PA State Police system. Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkIncumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.). Travel may be expected locally between System locations.
