Purpose: To obtain, through Magnetic Resonance, images of diagnostic value for interpretation by a Radiologist Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Performs quality assurance checks on equipment and procedure areas Run and record Phantom QA scans Ensure proper safety standards are met using OSHA guidelines Demonstrate knowledge of correct emergency shutdown procedures Demonstrate knowledge of proper fire and safety evacuation procedures Verify all ancillary equipment (monitoring devices, injectors, surveillance equipment) are operational Ensure procedure room is clean and up to Infection Control standards Inspect rooms for potential environment of care hazards (O2 tanks/outlets, lighting) and any discrepancies reported to supervisor in a timely manner Perform tasks associated with the operation of MR scanners and related equipment Position patients for MR scans using immobilization and protective equipment as necessary Perform MR imaging scans and having orders changed as needed Evaluate MR scans for technical quality Transmit appropriate images to PACS Screen patients by going over their history and obtaining prior related imaging if necessary Start IV for contrast for patients if needed and run ISTAT lab testing as needed Load and operate power injectors for contrast media administration Assist in providing education and training to student technologists, if applicable Perform other related duties as appointed by lead tech or manager.
Other Duties:
Participate in research initiatives as applicable Must be able to communicate calmly, compassionately, and professionally with all different types of patients and staff
Qualifications Required :
Associate's degree in Applied Science ARRT registration BLS/CPR Certification
