This travel Occupational Therapist assignment is based in the welcoming communities of Algonquin and Carpentersville, Illinois. You can expect to provide services across elementary and middle school grades, supporting a broad spectrum of student needs and developmental levels. The setting offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping students build independence and access their education through targeted occupational therapy interventions.Typical responsibilities include conducting evaluations and re-evaluations, writing and updating IEP goals, providing direct and consultative therapy services, and documenting progress in accordance with district and state guidelines. You will participate in IEP meetings, collaborate closely with teachers and support staff, and contribute to problem-solving teams to support student success. Interventions commonly focus on fine motor skills, handwriting, visual-motor integration, sensory regulation, self-care skills, and classroom participation. You may also be involved in recommending environmental modifications, adaptive tools, and classroom strategies to enhance functional performance.The anticipated weekly schedule is based on a standard school-day shift, with approximately 7.5 hours per day and an expected total of 37.5 hours per week. Your day will generally follow the school bell schedule, providing a consistent routine that aligns with the academic calendar. Caseloads typically span multiple grade levels, and you may serve students in general education classrooms, resource rooms, and self-contained settings. Travel between buildings may be required, depending on final assignment within the district.You will join a student-focused, collaborative educational team that values interdisciplinary input and open communication. The district environment is supportive of related service providers, with opportunities to consult with school psychologists, speech-language pathologists, special education teachers, and administrators.
