About
Assist in the planning and implementation of company safety policies and programs
Uphold and promote a positive safety culture across the organization
Advise and lead employees on various safety-related topics
Conduct project safety inspections and present findings to project foremen and the Safety Committee, with follow-up to ensure corrective actions are taken
Prepare and deliver educational seminars and safety training sessions
Work with the Safety Manager to review and update existing safety policies and procedures
Support foremen and field employees with safety-related needs
Assist HR with safety components of new employee onboarding
Prepare and distribute required safety documentation for newly awarded projects
Enforce preventative measures and educate employees on hazard mitigation
Assist in coordinating Safety Committee meetings
Prepare and present reports on accidents and violations, determine causes, and assist affected employees after an incident
Oversee installations or tasks involving significant potential hazards
Work with HR to maintain accurate training and certification records
Work with Accounting to maintain Workers Compensation documentation
Support Operations with safety?related administrative needs
Accurately maintain and submit OSHA 300 logs
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of experience in the construction industry
Ability to communicate effectively in English (oral and written) with both management and field personnel
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
Ability to work with, teach, and mentor management and field employees
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements: Working Conditions
Work performed both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions depending on jobsite location
Possible exposure to odors, fumes, materials, substances, and particulate matter outside the company’s control
Potential exposure to hazards including working at heights, confined spaces, indoor/outdoor environments, and energized equipment
Regular travel to jobsites, with potential for extended driving
May require part?time or full?time assignment to specific projects and occasional extended hours or weekend work
Physical & Mental Requirements
Standing, walking, driving, and speaking to large groups for extended periods
Ability to access construction areas from street level to all building levels, including those accessible only by OSHA?approved ladders or unfinished stair systems
Ability to manage job?related stress and maintain effective interactions with others
