Job Summary: The Certified Nursing Assistant provides quality, confidential health services to the district and assures smooth and efficient operation of the health office to maximize the positive impact on the education of children Qualifications: Active Illinois Certified Nursing Assistant Certification
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Staff. Reports to:

Terms of Employment: This is a full-time, 9-month position covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement in the Health Services Category. Compensation is hourly, with pay and benefits determined by the Board of Education. Compensation and Benefits:

FLSA Status: Non- Exempt Duties and Responsibilities:
Focuses on customer service, creating a positive climate of respect and trust.
Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems. Assists in development and implementation of district policies and procedures.
Participates in administrative training and meetings, departmental staff meetings, District committees, seminars, conferences, CPR, CNA, etc. Supports all members of the building in maintaining the electronic personnel record system and ensures compliance with State regulations. Maintains strong communication with employees.
Receives and responds to emails, written correspondence, and telephone inquiries in a timely manner.
Makes recommendations for continuous improvement in the efficiency of department and services performed. Researches and stays current on regulations, policies, and procedures that pertain to school health.
Demonstrates appropriate medical knowledge and skill in certified nursing assistant techniques.
Plans and implements direct nursing care for both individuals and groups of students, integrated with the school program.
Assists in gathering data requested for various plans including but not limited to, 504s, IEPs, and individual health plans.
Tracks referrals for the hearing and conservation program.
Appropriately administers treatments, medication, and care to students, staff and building guests.
Organizes physical space and maintains a hygienic environment.
Promotes wellness through modeling, creating, and implementing wellness programs.
Communicates with staff, parents, and the community in a respectful and professional manner.
Ensures the confidentiality of student records and school information.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as determined by the principal or designee or as needs arise. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Physical Demands: The physical demands of this position include frequent sitting and standing for extended periods of time. Employees may reach overhead as well as above the shoulders and horizontally, and occasionally move or lift items up to 50 pounds. Regular attendance on the job is expected.
